Ramanan isn’t a poet who searches for words. They come to him, from an unknown source, rising from within, in the form of a powerful spiritual flood.

‘You truly are Bharathi! I say this not loosely, but from the depth of my heart.’

As far as he is concerned, poesy is not a talent. It is an experience. What range of poesy one must have to raise an illiterate, common man to the skies through it? He has such sweeping range.

Folk genre of poesy seems to be second nature to him. He isn’t a poet limited to verses on love. He can write on anything. His verses walk straight and take flight. Having read them, my walk too has straightened. And makes me want to look at all the world positively.
